stitch count of 196 x 218. Frances Eliza Kimber
lived up to her namesake with this sampler
stitched when she was only 8. The last name
Kimber refers to a 7th century warrior princess
who staunchly defended the Christian faith and
founded an abbey. Frances included the
beatitude from Matthew 5:6, "Blessed are they
which do hunger and thirst after righteousness
for they shall be filled." |
