From Plum Street Samplers, this small sampler is set in the season of heading back to the schoolhouses, with an emphases on schoolgirls and- strawberries in a Rhode Island sampler setting. The color palette is a vibrant array of reds and pinks, and the verse is a common childhood one, found on the occasional antique sampler. With a stitch count of 108w x 118h, the design is shown on 35ct Classic Homespun linen by R&R Reproductions. (Aida-stitchers may choose to substitute a strawberry button - or even an apple button - in place of the over-one strawberry that the schoolgirl is holding. There is also an over- one butterfly, but a stitched initial would work well in its place.) Fibers used are Gentle Art Sampler Threads (Endive, Oatmeal, Fisherman's Wharf. Brandy, Melon Patch, Ruby Slipper, Cast Iron Skillet & Tradewinds) and Classic Colorworks (Clay Pot, Root Beer Float & Tennessee Red Clay).
