A Deventer Duo - IDL 1806 & EH 1811 |
|
A collaboration between Gigi R and Needlework
Press brings you this incredible sampler
stitched by Ida Dorothea Lamberts in 1806.
Although we know nothing about the maker of the
1811 sampler E H, these could be sister
samplers with the very elegant flower
patterns/images, urns and the Chinese vase.
Their samplers include the Deventer coat of
arms, the eagle, and the myriad urns/baskets
with abundant bouquets. Both charts are
included in this booklet. All materials and
instructions are printed on the inside and back
cover.

Ann Mack Jennet |
|
From
Needlework Press, Let us start by saying that we
cannot imagine a 10-year-old stitching this
sampler on 52ct linen! However, we understand that
her age likely accounts for the irregularities in
stitch placement and border measurement. So please
count your stitches carefully, as the border is
not an exact repeat, leaves aren’t always where
expected and images are not precise mirrors.
Shown on 46ct Confederate Gray linen using a
variety of Silks (with a DMC conversion provided).
Stitch count is 314w x 359h
