The facing page for each of the 52 weeks in 2008 features a color picture of needlework from the Schwenkfelder collection featuring samplers and other embroidered items, along with a brief history of the Schwenkfelders and commentary on the samplers and the sampler makers. This is the only place to find photographs of the Schwenkfelder collection, and it is especially valuable to also have the written information about the girls, their works and their families. |
