SNT will be CLOSED Monday May 26th in observance of Memorial Day I cannot believe how fast this year is going by. I looked at the calendar this past Monday night and realized that THIS weekend was Memorial Day Weekend. That means ... gasp ... in less than 2 weeks, I'll be leaving for the Summer Market Trade Show in Columbus Ohio! More shopping! More classes! More one on one time with different designers, designer friends and shop owner friends! How can it possibly be time to go to Market again?! I'll be taking my trusty laptop with me again and will give you nightly updates from that day's walking the show floor. I'll have a spot on my Specials web page where you'll be able to 'see' some of the new that will be coming. This will be an "order only" Market, which means what I'm ordering WILL BE coming in as the shipments arrive! I also absolutely cannot believe .. I mean I'd never ever thought .. that I'd be excitedly calling Dave on my cell phone this morning to tell him where he could get gas for ONLY $3.85!!! But, by the time he got around to actually coming into town to fill up his gas cans for the mower/tractor, the price had risen to $4.09!! Remember as gasoline prices continue to rise, the cost of mailing a one-pound parcel to you will probably still be less than the cost to drive to the shop. We'll gladly ship your order to you no matter where you live! Just remember, it doesn't matter 'what shipping price' our shopping cart computer program estimates for you .. we charge actual postage rates! Well, I finished the wedding sampler I was 'asked' to stitch for my mother's friends' grand-daughter's wedding. Got the frame ordered and it's off to the framers. Turned out really pretty with the color conversions too! I did have a bit of trouble starting it .. probably because I was nervous, stressed, what ever, over stitching this for someone who didn't even know what it was going to look like. Since it was a floral/vine surrounding the wording, I got messed up on the left top side. Ripped that top section out twice, and then on the third try, saw that I was still 'off' somewhere. The sides were not going to match up. FINALLY found where I'd messed up ... it was on the top right side. So .. rather than rip the left side AND the right side (aka starting completely over on a new piece of fabric) .. I decided that in this case "two wrongs WOULD make a right". I paid careful attention to where the 'oops' may be on the top right of the border and made sure that I made the same oops on the left side. Ta Da! Matched and all worked out for the best. Since it was a backstitched area only, it was easy to fudge and even I cannot spot where the oops was!
