Hi Fellow Stitchers ...

The shop fiber room is now 'officially torn apart'!  The new fiber display rack I had been waiting for arrived and Dave came in today to assemble it for me. We then moved 6 of the wooden drawer cases out of the way and put the new display in the corner by the doorway.  Tomorrow, I will begin to rearrange ALL of the fibers in order to gain more room for the new ones that have come in AND for some that have been in drawers and want to be put on the wall instead.  It's a mess, but we still know - at this point in time - where everything is.  Next week "memory" will be called in to help figure out where I put stuff.

I'd like to take a moment to introduce you to our newest employee .... Lola.  Lola started up front with Louann today and so far, they've gotten along quite well, although Louann did most of the work by herself.  I'm not too sure about her work experience before SNT, actually I'm not too sure I want to know what her work experience is as she looks like she likes to have a good time .. maybe too good of a time (can you say 'party girl'?)!  What I don't like about her is her style of dress, her makeup, and ... her tattoo!   Not exactly office dress code.  And now I find out she's apparently thinking about adding a new tat .. on her shoulder.  She just can't decide if it will be a rose or a ship's anchor!! Lola doesn't say much so we're hoping she's actually paying attention and will be a quick learner.  I doubt you'll be speaking to her on the phone right away though.

  .... DISSAPOINTING NEWS ....

San-Man logo

SANMAN ORIGINALS    --   due to the designer's health problems, San-Man Originals has shut down the wholesale portion of their business.  Sandy says ... "the shop and distributor orders were to much to handle at this time. We are hoping this will be temporary, but only time will tell."

We at SNT are in the process of updating our catalog with the charts we have in stock and with those still shown as available to us from our distributor. We will apologize in advance if there is a title we are unable to obtain for you.

Dragon Dreams Logo

DRAGON DREAMS    --  Jennifer states on her web site:   "As much as I have enjoyed my 14+ years designing cross stitch, my adventures will now be taking me down a different path.     My LAST 2 designs (DD-99 and DD-100) will be released at the show in Toronto this fall.  After that, Dragon Dreams will no longer be self-publishing any designs.  It no longer makes sense to me to create a product that is so easy to steal."

Again, we at SNT are in the process of updating our catalog with the charts we have in stock and with those still shown as available to us from our distributor. We will apologize in advance if there is a title we are unable to obtain for you.

Dave has reminded me that I forgot to tell you all about our canoeing trip from a week ago.  We got together with his daughter in law Sally, her best friend Karen and her cousin Mike (he owned the canoe!), his granddaughter Sierra and her boyfriend Adam (and his mother), and other granddaughter Cabrina and grandson Sam.   They all had tubes and floating chairs, so it was just to be Dave and In in the canoe.  That's where I learned, about 2 minutes into the trip, NOT to grab onto tree branches to slow the canoe down .... over we went, with all the coolers into the drink. And of course, neither Dave nor I had bathing suits on ... thank goodness the sun was coming out!  We spent about 4 hours going down the Huron River and had a fantastic time. Most of the time Dave and I were in the 'lead' with the tubers behind us, but from time to time we found everyone hooking their tubes and rafts to the canoe and letting US pull them around.  I really got into the hang of paddling, and going through some tiny rapids, and around downed trees and stuff .... but as soon as we were putting the canoe in at the end of the trip,I decided to be the one to pull us up onto the sand.  That's where I slipped getting out of the boat, one leg in and one leg out ... and there I was ... wet again!   Thank goodness the bruises on my legs are fading, I was getting tired of trying to color coordinate my clothing with that shade of green!

And what is it when you're out on the water and in the sun that makes you so incredibly hungry?  We got back to Sally's house where the pizza was waiting ... and I think I finally had a 'taste' of it on my 3rd slice!  Just inhaled it!!

Ok .. with that, I'm outta here.  Haven't eaten yet and tummy is rumbling.  I'm going to be working on the SPECIALS page on Sunday ... posting ALL the info about CAMP STITCHALOT for you to see.  Prices, Classes, Teachers, the whole five yards, so ...stay tuned for that info, and, until next weekend and your next update ....Hot Summer Sale
